Milox7.JPG (11154 bytes)

Milox8.JPG (5959 bytes)

Above is a photo of a large boulder that has been opalised over many thousands of years. Above right is a fossilised fish, which comes from Green River, Wyoming, USA, and is over 50 million years old.

Milox9.JPG (27457 bytes)

The photo above shows petrified wood or fossilised wood. These are huge samples of complete trees, the likes of which you will not see anywhere else in Australia. It is well worth a visit to Oxley just to see this petrified wood, which is anywhere from 40 million years old.

Milox10.JPG (5803 bytes) Milox11.JPG (6527 bytes) Milox12.JPG (4529 bytes)

The photo above left is actually a mammoth's tooth, which is 10,000 years old. The centre photo is of a fossilised leaf, from Pensilvania USA, and is 290 million years old. The photo on the right shows two fossilised yabbies or crayfish. The large one is from Mackay in Queensland, and the smaller one is from Darwin.
