The Old Tobacco Sheds Tourist Complex

Located on the Great Alpine Road, the Old Tobacco Sheds are on the left about 500 metres before you enter Bright when coming from Porepunkah.

This Tourist complex has free entry, although there is a small charge for the museum, and comprises a host of tourist type attractions, such as gift shops, cafe, antiques, bric a brac, books and paintings, and a host of other collectables.

You may find that you need a few days to saunter through all the shops.

The Tourist Complex is comprised of the 26 Shops of Treasure, the Tobacco and Gold Museum, the Historic Hut, the Cafe, the Miners Hut and the Burley Shed.

 

Gold Museum

 

Above is the entrance to Australia's First Tobacco and Gold Museum.

 

The Gold Museum shares the building with the Tobacco Museum. The Gold Museum has a range of gold mining equipment and machinery on display.

The museum has extensive documentation which has been set out on many easy to read charts. These charts cover the following :-
