It was standing room only, as a mammoth pack assembled at the Rose Arboured gates of Isaac Isaac's Park in uphill Yackandandah. The Dog squad was again in attendance, and champing at the bits to get "On Trail". Eventually, Kunoath announced that a severe flash flood had been through Yackandandah yesterday evening, after he had set trail, but, he had put in the big effort, done the hard yards and reset trail, in chalk and toilet paper, this afternoon.
And it was "On On", as usual down into the creekline, with the pooch patrol leading the pack. Back and forth. Back and forth, across the creek thirteen time (yes, they have been counted) and along one of the busy vehicle arteries, ducking and weaving between the traffic, eventually arriving at the first Hash Halt, the Water Spring.
After noting the unusually low level of the spring water flow, Kunoath called "On On", again. Up the hill (where else???) and around the corner and up one side of a court and back down the other side (where was Captain when you need him???) and back almost into the heart of the thriving metropolis before turning back to the outskirts. Use of the term "outskirts" may not be appropriate, as the local council had seen fit to install a traffic flow counter on this street. This kept front runners Kunoath and Gunna amused for a few moments as they tried to falsify the results by stomping all over the tube.
"On On" went the pack, with Snoopy pulling A.I. all over the road, checking out all there was to smell. Sally adopted a more leisurely pace and TuckerBox wasn't complaining. Around the southern edge of Town, with the pack expecting more creek crossings, but Kunoath pulled another fast one, with trail heading back into the center of Town, to treed the paths recently trod by such as filmstar Paul Hogan and Hannibal from HHHH. Down the Main Street, past assorted curio shops, full to the brim with all sorts of bric-a-brac, went the pack. Past not one, but two pubs without a drink stop almost had KrunchA in tears. A final Hash Halt, at the bridge over the so oft crossed creek, and the pack only had a short, uphill, trot back to the bucket and Nosh of assorted flavoured snags in bread, topped with assorted sauces.
As the G.M., Sting, was one of the few stop outs, there were no Down Downs.
