The weather had been a little inclement, so it was a pleasant surprise to see seven finally show up, including the return of the Happy Wanderer, Kunoath, just back from his trip to Western Australia. At the appropriate time, Hare Sting got the packs attention to announce that rain had washed out (yeah, sure it had) trail, so tonight's run would be a "live hare" run with each Hasher Haring for "ten minutes, about ten minutes, well, until you've had enough". Numbered icypole sticks were drawn to determine order of Haring, with Sting taking the first section.
Sting led down the pathway and under the roadway and along Stenzel St with the pack already stretching out behind her. Along into Simon St and along the footpath through to Wickham St, stopping alongside one of the street lights, next to a street sign advising car drivers that kids may be playing on the roadways in the area (Oh Really). From this point, Onca took over, trying up, first, one dead end court, and then another. Eventually, she led the pack down the main road to the main roundabout at the intersection with John Schubert Drive.
After the pack had re-assembled, Rat took control, leading the pack into Forecourt Terrace and on into the new Barranduda Primary School, and when he ran out of footpath, he figured it was a good time to hand over to the next "Hare" - Kunoath. Kunoath declared that this had been a false trail and led the pack back to Forecourt Terrace and then down Basil Court.
At the end of Basil Court was a large Billboard which Kunoath thought would make a good marking for handing trail over to the next Hare - Gunna, who took the pack down the road a short way then over/through the fence and along the Yackandandah Rd to Schubert Drive. Here he handed over to Bandit who tried to get the pack to follow him into the new Estate, but having had enough, they stood their ground until Bandit came to his senses and headed toward Barranduda along Schubert Drive. About four fifths along, Bandit handed over to the last Hare - TuckerBox, who led the pack "On Home".
Nosh was Hamburgers and sausages with bread. Down Downs went to Gunna, Bandit and Bobcat.
