Bobcat and Bandit waited at the Albury Railway Station. Waited, that is, after Bandit had made a mad dash to a nearby hole in the wall so that he could finance his trip. Whilst he waited, Bobcat checked the Train Timetable and determined that the return train would be at Culcairn at 3:28. Bandit returned in time to see the train pull into the station. Bobcat claimed that the Station Announcer had said " The next train will arrive at Platform One in Ten minutes ……. Oh, wait, Here it is now!" and Bandit noticed the little sign that they had placed at the doors of the carriages showed the Melbourne was toward the Northern end of the platform with Sydney toward the Southern end of the platform, so it seemed that this day was not going well for a lot of people. Eventually, the train pulled out, and Bandit and Bobcat managed to purchase their tickets on the train just about in time to get off at Culcairn.
Gunna was waiting outside the station, having set trail, but, unfortunately, it had been washed out so Gunna directed the pack to the riverside park. Then, after checking out the closed "In River" swimming pool, Gunna directed the pack through the streets of West Culcairn before finally arriving at the local Pub for lunch.
Lunch was financed by AWH3 with a couple of dollars left over.
After lunch and after checking out the motorbikes that adorned the roadway opposite the pub, Gunna directed the pack, i.e. Bandit and Bobcat, through the streets of East Culcairn, and they were about as far from the Railway Station as they could be and still be in Culcairn when the southbound train went through the town, whistle blowing so we knew we had missed it. Yes, you guessed it. The train does go through Culcairn at 3:28 A.M. Seems Bobcat had failed reading train timetables, so, even though the train was about half an hour late for its afternoon schedule, Bandit and Bobcat still managed to miss it. Just as well Gunna had driven his car to Culcairn, anyway, all ended well after a good day out. Pity more had not attended.
