Next weeks run, by John Doe, is supposed to be a very short run, so that, after the run, those present can go through the set up for the State to State Fun Run to make sure that things are O.K.
Yes, the details for the AGPU have finally been determined by Gunna's gang of Girls. Its main location will be the carpark of the Jingellic Hotel. (If you wish something more comfortable, rooms may be rented, at your expense, in the Hotel.) The early birds will be there Friday Evening, with the late comers arriving Saturday Afternoon, hopefully in time for the Run at about 3.00 p.m. After the run, the Current GRAND MATTRESS, Artificial Insemination, will appoint the new committee. Will it be a Grand Mattress, again, or will it be a Grand Master. (I could add "as it should be" but someone would probably say that was sexist!!). Then its on to the Hotel for a fine meal (the other meals will be simple Hash Nosh) before returning to the car park for more merriment. Recovery Run, Sunday Morning, set by the new Trail Master.
Gunna had set this run "out of town", so it was a surprise to see that almost the entire, usual, pack attended. At the appropiate time, Gunna told the pack that he had the usual bottle of Baileys and would be asking questions at each Hash Halt, then said the first Hash Halt was at the N.S.W. side of the bridge and it was "On On". Again, Bobcat and Rat showed the rest of the pack a clean set of Heals as they headed for the other side of the Weir, then went and had a closser look at the water whilst waiting for the rest of the pack to arrive.
Gunna's first question was something like "What is the maximum height of vehicles that may safely cross the bridge?" and A.I. was able to read the sign above the roadway which showed 4.4 mtrs was safe. Then Gunna gave A.I. a drink of Baileys before asking "In what year was the bridge built?" to which A.I. was able to answer "1930" because that was what Bandit had said when A.I. and Gunna had first arrived at the Hash Halt. After the drink break, Gunna said that trail led down to the waters edge then along the edge to the next boat ramp. Kunoath and Bandit followed Gunnas directions explicitely, Rat short cut along the road and the rest of the pack went somewhere inbetween, with Bobcat racing Onca, and losing. At the boat ramp, Gunna went and spoke to some guy who was loading his Kayak onto his car. After a while, Gunna came back to the pack and said the next Hash Halt was further along the shore where we would be able to see Lake Hume Resort.
The pack set off, and after some while, Gunna called out that we would be able to see the Resort from on top of that fence post, after most of the pack had past the designated point, looking for some point from where the Resort was visable. From this Hash Halt, it was "On Home" by whatever means.
Nosh was roast chicken and chips.
