Kunoath was the first to arrive, being well set up by the time Bandit made an appearence at about 8.00 p.m. Later arrivals were the Grand Mattress, Artificial Insemination, and Krunch-a, with Gunna bringing up the rear, arriving at about 11.30 p.m. Kunoath had gone to bed, but was resurrected and joined the pack around the fire bucket for a few "sherbets", and being one of the last to retire, this time at about 3.00 a.m. (He was later heard to say that he was up and about, on Saturday morning, at his usual 5.00 a.m., so no wonder he was again dozing early Saturday evening.)
Mystery was, apparently, unable to attend for the actual run, but Gunna was given the relevant trail information, and, with the aid of Jean's (who had arrived on Saturday morning) map reading skills, took the pack on a guided tour of the various gold digging site in and around Mitta Mitta.
After the Run, the pack settled into sampling some of the assorted beverages (which had been supplied) and aquiring more wood for the fire bucket, prior to getting cleaned up and heading down the local rubberdy for a meal and more drinks. It was whilst some of the pack were getting cleaned up that Tone-Up decided to arrive. The meal and drinks were enjoyed by all, but some of the conversation left something to be desired and along with the decorations that were arranged by Krunch-A (i.e. two pairs of A.I.'s knickers), it is probably fair to say that we had gotten the attention of those "normal" people who had also come to the pub for a quite meal. After finishing desert, the pack were taken out the back of the pub, by Kunoath, to have the near-by "fish race" explained to them. Then it was "On Home", being very careful to be quite whilst passing the second house on the left, whose owner had given us fair warning on our way to the pub.
The pack settled in, around the fire bucket, to continue sampling the various liquids and whileing the time away. Krunch-a and Kunoath both kept drifting in and out of consciousness until they eventually hit thier sacks. Tone-Up left for Home, Gunna and A.I. also retired, seperately, and, eventually, when the fire bucket had died down, Bandit also left, leaving Jean as the last hasher to hit the sack.
Sunday morning and the pack arose, refreshed. Well, almost. Jean did not wait for the recovery run but, after a sumptuous breakfast, the original Five Hashers headed off on the Recovery Run, as set by Mystery who, again, apparently had made her presence felt (i.e. set the trail) and then dissappeared, and Gunna regailed the pack about one of the sights that we would see on the run. A Rock, yes, a rock, but a big rock, about two metres in diameter, which, presumeably, had been dug out of the surrounding hills during the local Gold Rush but, sometime since Gunna had been down this part of the river, it has dissappeared, or maybe it was just that the river was running so high that it was flowing over the rock. Anyway, with that sight now off our route, the walk was saved by the sight of a pair of ducks flapping about, trying to get our attention whilst thier brood of three ducklings made a dash into the river. The pack continued on Gunna's Guided Tour until we hit a sealed roadway, and, whilst Gunna wanted to go one way, the rest of the pack desided it was "On Home", stopping only shortly to say "Hello" to the camping grounds pet Cockatoo. Then it was a case of pack up and "On Out" bigtime.
