An even smaller, even eliter, even hardier, pack (Gunna, Kunoath, Bobcat and Bandit) gather at the Nail Can Hill Run first drink stop, on what should have been a dark night but, thanks to the (misguided) lights of the Lavington Sports Club Footy oval, the way up was fairly distinct.

And it was On Up, as Gunna had promised, On Up the trail used for the Nail Can Hill Run. Well, at least for the first couple of Kilometers, until Gunna spied what he thought was the turn off to the Lake/Dam/Makeout spot, but after only about 200 meters this (false) trail pettered out and it was On Back to the main track, only to turn off again a short distance later. This time Gunna got it right, and the pack was saved from walking (or should that be running? No, walking) straight into the dam by a strategicly placed picnic table.

From the Dam it was further along the side trail, through, or over, a fence to another table, this time placed on top of the hill, giving a splendid view from Rutherglen in the west, across Wodonga in front of the hill and on to the Hume Wier in the east. As the pack admired the sights and worked out which street lights represented which streets and which sporting field lights represented which sporting fields, they imbibed in the obligatory bottle of Baileys. Very nice.

Eventually the cool of the evening got to the pack and the call "On Home" was called. Back through, or over, the fence and straight down the track to the main track and On, even On, back to the cars parked at the gate. The darkness of the night was really noticeable this time, as training must have finished at the Lavies footy field, so the lights were out and following the track was a bit difficult, or was it just the Baileys having an effect.

Nosh, once again, was Roast Chicken, but, this time, back to Gunna's traditional Red Rooster.
