A small pack (What? Is everyone scared of water, or something?) gathered at the boat ramp at the appointed time. Gunna launched the safety boat and Mystery took up her position as the figure head on the boat, no getting wet for her. Tone-up had also chickened out, feeling that the water would be too cold, so she volunteered to pilot the boat, giving Gunna the chance to partake in the "Run", but Gunna changed his mind (Is he a woman, or what?), so Tone-up was forced to hit the water on her lie-low

The pack headed out to the island, so as to get in the main current on the N.S.W. side of the river. Having made it to the island, the pack went overland, barefoot, to hop back into the water below the chain which, supposedly, represents the limit of fishing. Well, most did, but not Kunoath. Having reached the island further upstream than most of the pack, he hopped back into stream and got himself caught up on the chain.

Once everybody was back in the water, it was basically a case of lay back and let the current take you where it wanted. For all except Bandit, that is. He seemed to spend most of his time Zigging and Zagging across the river, but still managed to keep up with the pack. Perhaps this waywouldness was due to his lack of navigational equipment. Then to make matters worse, after floating under Heywoods bridge, Bandit discovered he had a puncture in his tube. Was this the reason why, when Gunna started to make noises about heading back, Bandit was the first the accept a lift.

As the boat made its first trip back to the ramp, Wetcheck was seen to be making a late attempt at catching the pack. And, as the boat approached the bridge, the figure-head, I mean Mystery, indicated she wanted to run back, so was dumped near the roadway.

Nosh was, as usual for Gunna, cooked chook, this time from Safeway. After Nosh, Kunoath held a quick meeting to go over arrangements for the upcoming

"State to State Fun Run", March 17.
