The first rains of the year made the drive to Beechworth, in Tank Jobs courtesy car, interesting as she had not driven a manual for many years and kept fumbling around trying to find all the knobs, levers and controls whilst negotiating the winding road. Huddled around the base of a large tree were Kunoath, Gunna, Wet Check and Bandit contemplating whether the weather will interfere with the conduct of the run or to just call it off and hit the grog.
The Hare had gone to great lengths to mark trail on Sunday and contemplated having Nosh at the Lake so that we could go swimming because it was going to be hot; He!! he!!. The temperature changed, the heavens opened up and changed all of his thoughts to wet and cold. The pack dispersed in all directions looking for the washed out arrows but were not observant enough to see the ones behind them, which indicated the same direction that the Hare was proceeding. Down across the front of the Beechworth Gaol to the Police Station and back to the Guide Hall.
There were rumblings from two quarters as to the length or lack of length of the run so Wet Check and Gunna went East with Ineka and Mystery going North to satisfy their desire. Kunoath decided to use the BBQ but it had been removed so to the BBQ at the back of the Rock; no go it don't work so to the Lake pack trudged. TJ, Ambi & AI came back from the Bakery to find the Car Park empty so they drove around till they found the remainder of the pack by the Lake. Mystery and Ineke were not to be seen again, presumably returning to the On On, finding it vacated, so heading On Home, bigtime.
Goat burgers were the meal with home made Chili sauce to spice them up a little bit.

Last week Wendy's founder Dave Thomas was laid to rest in a Columbus suburb. The preacher doing the service related a story about Thomas during the service.
Seems Thomas received by mail a check for $200 from a former employee who'd stolen $200 from a store over 20 years before. Thomas asked the preacher what he thought about it.
The preacher said, "I think it shows how the Lord works in mysterious ways, Dave."
Thomas responded, "You think we can get the Lord to work a little harder and get this guy to pay me the interest, too?"
